Finally getting into off-road

Try loosening the glow plug half a turn or so...once it fires up...tighten the plug back up. New motors can be a bear to get started the first time for sure. What bump box do you have? The weaker ones tend to have issues with tight motors, but with heat and a loose glow plug....should be able to turn it.

If that doesn't work, you can always add another shim to the head to lessen the compression slightly until you can get some fuel through it. I know my Alpha Plus engine came with an optional head shim. Not sure on the +4 though.

That should be enough to bump it over I would imagine. Start the piston at BDC and see what happens with a loose glow plug. If the piston gets stuck, use a flathead screwdriver on the flywheel and you should be able to get it back to BDC easy enough.

The chrome top starter box from Ofna would strain to turn over a new motor. Try the blue Ofna box with the twin 7?? motors.
